A Few Words About Us
Ya Hoo Dining is a family business run by family members; founded by Raymond Tan (nickname Tan 哥). Raymond hails from Malaysia, and his dialect is Hokkien. The origin of the name “YA HOO”; “也好” – meaning, “everything is good”. Raymond started his chef career in the 1980s in Melbourne and opened his first restaurant in 2000 in Toowong.
Throughout that decade, he established restaurants in various locations throughout Brisbane. More recently, Ya Hoo Hillcrest and Ya Hoo Waterford continue successfully serving delectable Malaysian cuisine.
Ya Hoo Dining Mount Gravatt is the most recent expansion to the family chain. We are excited to share our passion for Malaysian food with those who love an authentic offering – come and find out what our specials are!
